Vitamin Supplements – Health and Nutrition
Being sick a lot and going in and out of the doctor’s offices when I was younger wasn’t really the grandest way to spend a childhood. Coughing, sneezing, overweight, and tired all the time made young life for myself very miserable, however though, very preventable. Getting sick a lot wasn’t good.
In my teens joining sports and other various heavy demanding physical activities took its toll on my bodies and I always wondered what it took for those professionals to keep on striving toward their goals. I then looked into diet and nutrition and started following a strict regime while I myself was in sports. Even at those limits I still felt that there was another way to assist. Upon reading some articles on how various athletes trained, something occurred to me that all of them had in common. They all took nutritional supplements. Doing some research I finally concluded that it wasn’t steroids to my disbelief! So that put a big relief on my end. To make a long story short, that is when I knew the importance of nutritional supplements not only for athletes but for everyone in general.
I want to share with the people who see these personal discoveries. Oh and a note, I am not a doctor, physician, personal trainer or even a professional athlete. I am a college student sharing his opinions on what nutritional supplements have done for me.
The first things that I learned when buying supplements were the following of three basic principles. I need something that gave me energy, protected my immune system and digestive regime, and built muscle after.
I obviously needed the energy for various reasons like how a car needed gas no matter what. So I turned to using vitamin B products for those initial bursts and duration of energy supplies for whatever activity your doing. For protecting my immune system and a regular digestive regime I turned to concentrations of various antioxidants such as Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C. All which contributed to a healthier lifestyle. Last but not least were the muscle building supplements to build back the broken and damaged tissues. I went with concentrations of Whey protein because of its quick absorbing properties in the blood.
Along with diet and exercise regime which I followed strictly I went from 260lbs to 220lbs in a matter of months. Drastically changed how I felt and how my outlooks on things were. I am confident that these supplements were the key factor in my in my ongoing success in this part of my life. I have a few workout regimes I still try to devote myself to trying to juggle college and a job. However, I heard a quote somewhere but I can’t exactly cite or know the exact words but it went something like this that stuck in my mind: “Time is created, not found.”
