Tips For Following Proper Sports Nutrition and Fitness Regiment

Everyone wants a knock out, athletic and lean body. One way to get that is through sports nutrition. The problem is it’s always neglected when someone is to make noticeable progress with their fitness training. Without a the proper understanding muscle building and fat burning nutrition, you’ll never make the progress needed and never reach your potential.

While training is important, you can’t accomplish any results without the right nutrition. In order for your body to reach its highest potential, all of your body’s functions and systems must be working mutually and optimally. The way for this to happen is by eating a variety of nutritious foods. Calories, carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, and fluids all play their own crucial role in the function on the body. Here are four areas of nutrition you should pay particular attention to:

Protein - When it comes to building muscle, protein is the key. You’ll never find a a serious sports nutrition program that doesn’t include a large portion of it dedicated to protein intake. The easiest way to track your the amount of protein you need is to try and take in at least one gram of protein per every pound of lean body mass daily. There are a number of health experts that actually recommend taking in more protein than that in a day. Ultimately however, the choice is up to you and what you feel most comfortable with.

Fat - A little bit of fat is not necessarily a bad thing. Believe it or not, there is actually fat good for you. There are your omega 3’s and omega 6’s, also called essential fatty acids. These helps to develop muscle, burn fat and get fit. Many people make the mistake of taking in fat but they are consuming the wrong kind. They are taking in too many trans fatty acids and saturated fats. The good fats you want are in foods like cold-water fish, walnuts, ground flax seeds of flax seed oil, sunflower oil, fish oils and olive oil.

Water - You should drink water everyday. There is no getting around this obvious health matter. There are very few things you can put in your body as healthy and good for as water is. If your body doesn’t get enough of it, normal cell function is disrupted, muscle growth stops, you feel mentally and physically tired, and you can’t shake that general sense of fatigue.

Carbohydrates - When it comes to having the energy necessary to work out, you won’t be able to do much without carbs. They are the body’s source of energy for short, intense muscular contractions. They also play a crucial role in the recuperation and growth of muscle. When your body intakes carbohydrates, it signals the release of insulin. Insulin is what transports the amino acids, considered to be the building blocks of protein, into your muscle cells. When your muscles absorb all of these amino acids, they can grow stronger and repair themselves faster than normal.
